Groundwork with Focus

UPDATE Friday 11th @ 4pm – Online Ticket Sales are now closed. Horse & Handler tickets are fully sold out. Fence Sitter tickets can be purchased at the event on the day and are $20 each.

This wonderful clinic is being held as a fund-raising event for our Horse Rescue Program.

Join us for a day of FUN horsemanship with Nick Van Rees from KISS Horsemanship. Getting you groundwork right is a critical component of horsemanship.  In the morning Nick will take you through his method of purposeful groundwork exercises. There will be a lot of focus on softness and flexion with strong emphasis on purpose and safety to build confidence in your relationship with your horse.

I use softness and flexion to be able to control the horse’s movements and mind. So many people talk about controlling the hind these days: that’s all well and good but we must be able to control the horse’s mind first – the mind after all is what controls the hind ~ Nick Van Rees

After lunch Nick will demonstrate how to overcome and solve daily problems you might be facing with your horse and some simple riding exercises. This is an interactive Q & A time for participants and fence sitters to join in on the discussion.

This workshop is suitable for all rider abilities and disciplines.

Whilst this is a groundwork clinic, you are welcome to bring your tack for the afternoon sessions especially if you have a problem with your horse under saddle that you’d like Nick’s advice on.
